Chermside Library and Boolarong Press have joined forces to bring 3 authors together for the day. On the 9/11/11 authors Don Munro, Laurie Woods & Graham Smith will be at Chermside to talk and answer questions about their books and their time during the war.

Following generous and warm comments by Paul, Bill interrogated Kevin with a number of questions including the penalty try awarded. Kevin advised all at the launch to read the book to get an explanation of the penalty try.
"Crowie", as and sundry called him, in response to the section of the book on the World War II mention told us he and his fellow navy personnel had the responsibilty of bringing back POWs from Singapore.

So often we really don't know the people around us. The last survivor of Mawson's expedition to the Antarctic was Dr Alf Howard AM who only recently died at the age of 104.
Anna Bemrose spoke with Alf before he died and has produced a very interesting biography of the man as well as the BANZARE expeditions.
The book will be launched by ex ABC journalist and author, Tim Bowden AM on 8 November at 2:00pm in Auditorium 2, State Library, Southbank.

David Jones and Peter Nunan researched submarines in and around Brisbane during World War II. The Southbank dock at the Maritime Museum was a hive of activity during the war in the Pacific.
